The Technology Showcase is a regular feature at AMTA conferences, designed to provide demonstrations of the latest in commercial, government, and/or research technology. The AMTA-2010 Technology Showcase is planned to be held on Tuesday, November 2, between 11:00am and 5:00pm. There is no fee for exhibiting at this event. AMTA will provide tables, chairs, electrical power, and wireless networking. We will also provide posterboards for signs, but participants may also bring their own signs, backdrops, posterboards, and/or banners. Participants may bring their own displays or monitors or rent monitors via the conference registration website. A list of exhibitors will be provided in the conference bags. This list and more extensive information (see below) will be provided on-site at the showcase and on the conference CD.
- Advances in data-driven MT (Statistical MT, Example-based MT, etc.)
- Advances in rule-based MT (Transfer-based MT, Interlingual MT, etc.)
- Lexicon and grammar acquisition and induction
- Hybrid approaches that integrate and unify aspects of rule-based MT and
statistical MT
- MT for resource-poor languages
- MT on resource-limited machinery (e.g. PDAs)
- Speech-to-speech or speech-to-text MT
- MT with OCR
- MT for communication (chats, blogs, social networks)
- Customization and adaptation of high-performance MT systems
- Deep integration of MT technology within translation and localization
pipelines
Please complete the Technology Showcase application form on the AMTA-2010 website in order to apply for an exhibit booth in the Technology Showcase. For applications that are accepted, the completed forms will be distributed in hard copy at the Technology Showcase as part of a booklet. They will also be included on the conference CD.
